Hai Chi Jihn

 

Hai Chi Jihn has made Milwaukee her home for the past 30 years. A native of Taiwan, she earned her BA in Textile & Clothing Design from Fu Jen University in Taiwan, 1982 and her MFA in Metalsmithing from UW-Milwaukee, 1991.  She has been teaching as Adjunct at Cardinal Stritch University, UW-Milwaukee, The School of Chicago Institute of Art, Lawrence University, and Taiwan Fu-Jen University from 1994 to 2015. She has exhibited in national and international venues including the John Michael Kohler Arts Center, National Metal Museum in Memphis, Madison Contemporary of Art Center, Georgia Art Museum, Racine Art Museum, Taipei Elite Gallery and Taiwan National Kaohsiung Museum of Arts. Her work is in the permanent collections of Racine Art Museum, John Michael Kohler Arts Center, Kohler Company, Alverno College and private collections. Hai Chi Jihn is also a recipient of the Milwaukee Individual Fellowship, Sacagawea Artist Award, Artist/Industry Residency Program at Kohler Arts Center and Kohler Company, and Mary Nohl Travel Fund.
